Description:

Garfield Park Conservatory and Sunken Garden offers both indoor and outdoor horticulture displays, featuring lush tropical plants in the conservatory and an ever-changing array of floral displays in the three-acre sunken garden. Visitors to the conservatory are invited to roam among the orchids, palms and ferns, examining the diverse collection of tropical flora and fauna which includes free-flying zebra finches and colorful tree frogs. The sunken gardens offer seasonal displays featuring springtime tulips, summer annuals and autumn mums landscaped amongst lovely brick pathways and fountains in a classical formal garden setting. The gardens and conservatory are located inside Garfield Park in the near south side neighborhood.
