The AZA accredited Indianapolis Zoo has about 360 species of animals, including endangered and threatened species like Amur tigers and Kodiak bears. An indoor aquarium gives visitors a chance to explore underwater life and the zoo has areas where children can interact with some domesticated animals. Along with the zoo are the White River Gardens which includes over 1,000 plant varieties sprawling across 3.3 acres. It is located in White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis.
