The historic Benton House was once the home of Allen R. Benton, president of Irvington's Butler University, and is a striking example of the Second Empire style architecture. Built in 1873, the ten-room brick house has been restored and furnished to recall its appearance around the beginning of the 20th century. Serving as a community cultural and social center, the house and grounds available for rent for use during private parties and events, including weddings. It is located south of Ellenberger Park, in Indianapolis' Irvington neighborhood.
